Bristol Bound for Rain on Sunday

Perhaps the only thing that can slow down Harvick are the elements.  This year’s edition was moved from March to April to avoid the storms.  Alas the forecast is set once again for rain on Sunday.  With moisture abounding for most of the day, the creative people at Bristol found a way to race last year with similar circumstances.  So be prepared and practice the patient NASCAR is famous for in waiting our inclement weather this Sunday.

Food City 500

What might finally halt Harvick is the dependence of sheer speed at Bristol!  Billed as the world’s fastest half mile, the unusual 36 degree corner banking is the signature of this course.  Take this added stress to the mixing bowl and paint will certainly be traded on Sunday or Monday.  The key to handicapping this race is starting position.  To be in the middle or in the back of the pack is so much more difficult here than at most places.  Front runners have the best chance of maintaining a lead here than elsewhere on the circuit.

Only the Second Short Track of the Season So Far

Martinville was the first and this weekend has more intensity than that one.  Past history is a very strong indicator on who does well here.  Jeff Gordon historically performs well here but will put his reflexes through tests that they  can no longer respond well to.  Fade him.  Also Harvick should be ditched in your betting consdierations.  A cash cow has only done decently here in the past.  We are going to give you three names to look at when the order comes out for Sunday’s race.

  • Kyle Busch
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Matt Kenseth

If all things were equal, we would take Matt Kenseth.  For this Sunday, we recommend taking the one of the trip with the longest odds.  Also one unit wager on the one out of the three with the best starting position.  So tail us for profit as Bristol gets set for Sunday if the rain holds out.  Good fortune and we will see you next week here at APEX NASCAR betting.
