Larson hospitalized after fainting at autograph session

Martinsville, VA (SportsNetwork.com) – Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Larson
was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons after he fainted during an
autograph session at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday.

Larson, the 2014 rookie of the year in NASCAR’s top series, was at the Chevy
Stage in the fan zone area at this half-mile racetrack when he became ill.
According to multiple reports, he was transported to a local hospital but was
awake and alert at the time.

Prior to the autograph session, Larson had participated in final Sprint Cup
practice. Larson is hopeful that he will be medically cleared by NASCAR for
Sunday’s 500-lap race at Martinsville. On Friday, he qualified seventh in his
No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet.
